Janice Joan Angle (1931-2008) was a brilliant and beloved music performer and teacher who touched the lives of countless students in Oklahoma and Colorado. Her legacy has given the world a renowned orchestral conductor, numerous professional theatre performers and musicians, and a grand supply of people with a permanent love for music. She had faced down numerous tragedies in her life and was a glowing optimist, always ready with an encouraging positive spin. All who knew Jan remember her for her love, beauty, faith, strength, generosity and goodness. The unselfish and giving manner in which she lived was a blessing known by all who crossed her path. She is also, of course, remembered for her contribution to the enjoyment of music.
Jan Angle is a powerful source of inspiration for music educators like us. We at the Jan Angle Memorial Music Conservatory hope to mirror her efforts to enrich the lives of people through music.
Jan would often begin a lesson by saying "Entertain me, darlin'!"
